What kind of a guild is FdM?
Fleurs de Mal is a 3-year-old semi-hardcore raiding guild on Darkspear Eu (PvE-server). We raid only 4 days a week, allowing our members to have as much time for their RL as possible. Since we raid relatively less than most other guilds, we want our raids to be as effective as possible. We also realize that this is a game, and games are about having fun, so you have to be in for a laugh every now and then.After a period of internal reorganization we changed GM (since the old one got a bit tired) and we try to aim as upwards as we can get.
Hmmm, what is this GM for a person? A god?
No. There is only one God. Kerdan. The GM is a bitch, determined to keep the guild united and he aims to bring it to the top server ranks.
What is the raiding schedule of FdM?
Sunday, Monday, Wed, Thu, starting time 19:30 , finishing time about 23:00. During progression or if we are near a kill, you should be able to attend a raid a bit longer.
How many raids am i expected to attend every lock out?
That is a tricky question. I would say 80% if you need a definite answer. We actually dont want to have a minimum attendance and we dont want to use sign ups anymore. There are announcements for the raid dates on the forum and you are required to sign off in case you cant make it. Otherwise we just expect you there. It 's only 4 times a week, and you should be able attending most of them. On the other hand, we are very flexible and if the sun is shinning, we really do get it and you should enjoy the sun instead coming for the raid. The fact is that we are gonna get to our aim with a member that decided to raid or decided to stay offline. Raids spots are determined by the skill level of a player, his determination towards progress, his contribution to the guilds main aim.
How is the raid environment?
Strict. Ventrilo is highly recommended but you dont require a mic. During encounters, except of a few basic facts form the raid leader (positioning, no tactic---> you should had read it before and study videos etc.), everyone is responsible for himself. You are ought to know when to move out of crap on the floor, you are ought to know when to change targets, we expect our members that fill in a raid spot, to fill in a serious team player role aswell. This requires that you read the tactis posted in the forums, be able to understand information in english, pick up things fast and be prepaired for anything.
Doesnt it sound a bit too hardcore, for a semihardcore guild?
As we said above, we are a friendly guild, with strong bonds to each other. We tend to have a big laugh but when we progress, we do progress, and this is another element of fun for us. You should feel the same about fun before applying. DD
I aply, i get accepted, now what?
Now you are initiate. At this phase you will be viewed by our officers and you will have the chance to prove your skills, by taking regularly a raid spot. The main criterion for us at this stage, is your ability to improve. IMPROVEMENT is the magic word. We are not looking for players that don't do mistakes. There are no such. But we care about the improvement and the ability of every player to adapt through his mistakes and through new strategies.
After 2 weeks, during undone content, officers will decide if you will become a full member or not. In case there is no new content or in case you didn't fill up your role in fullness, but we see something in you, your trial period will be prolonged after a short chat with you in case you agree.
You will always get feedback from our imba officer team, and you should be prepared for that. They are sweet and server respected people that know what to say and when.
Officers are not there to spam em with beautiful pink screens. If sth troubles you attend to your Class leader first, and he will adress the matter upwards if he cannot find a solution to help you. Addressing an officer/GM without first talking to your Class Leader shows disrespect to the Class Leader, and thus is not recommended;p
During raids your god ceases to be called Kerdan XD .He transforms to a person we call Raid Leader.He is the man to make the team rotations, decide where we go according to what team we have. So please , do not spam all the officer team with questions like "where are we raiding today?".The hated by all Raid Leader will decide this for you anyway, since it is his responsibility.
In other words, where do i fit in?
If you are a person, with ambitions, towards progression, nice tries, hard work but keep your RL in a row, time for yourself and for your very owns, if you are a learner and an good self-improver, then go ahead and give us a chance to get to know you better!
Anything else i should know?
Yes. If you have read this post before you apply, include the following serial in your application “=)(/&” withought the quotes. It is a pretty simple direction, and if you are able to follow directions which is essential for our raids, you should be able to do this easily.
How do you feel about DCs?
We dont feel. You should have a pretty stable connection, and some good frame rates that will allow you to perform good in tactics in a 25 raid environment on time. We are human, computers arent DD
Oh yes, not that i am interested in joining for the loot, but what loot system do you use?
We use DKP. As initiate you will be able to get loot and win DKP but your priority on loot will be lower than regular members. We try to keep the trial period as short as possible, whether it s going to lead to a full membership or not, in order for both of us to benefit from each other. But this is something really depends on you as well. We commit that you will have our full attention during trial. The rest is up to you. Our priorities btw go like progression>loot (gear).
Last of all what raids are you doing atm?
Atm we are focused on hard modes in Ulduar plus we fight our way through heroic Toc 25man.
So if you make the "mistake" to come prepare for wipes.Lots of wipes.Did I mention wipes?XD
We are not playing for the easy loot.If that is on your mind better go somewhere else.We seek old school excitements from the game and that means wipes!!!So if you want to come to battles that you will not see in the majority of other guilds in DS feel free to join the rest of us lunatics.If not have a nice game and cya.
